As a Health & Injury Management Coordinator, your work will see you ensuring legislative compliance and drive financial improvement through the implementation of early intervention improvements and the support of operational line managers within the Cabin Crew Business Unit. Reporting to the Adviser Health & Injury Management, this role will also play a key part in achieving safety metrics through early management of workplace injury and the design and delivery of effective appropriate rehabilitation in the workplace.
Your main responsibilities will include:
Ensure Return to Work (RTW) plans are implemented for all injured workers
Work to maintain a solid working relationship with the injured worker to encourage compliance with RTW and treatment plans
Conduct case conferences and support 3/6/9 month reviews
Analyse injury reporting data for trends and develop specific preventative interventions for high-frequency injuries
Contribute strongly to injury prevention strategy developing innovative solutions and minimising cost at port and national level.
Maintain compliance with self-insurance requirements including reporting and transactional financial activities
Maintain compliance with WorkCover NSW (or equivalent state body outside NSW) requirements
Build relationships with injured workers’ Nominated Treating Doctor (NTD) where they are not part of the provider network
Drive personal accountability of managers and supervisors for RTW outcomes of their staff
Coach Managers and Supervisors through the RTW process
Actively participate in OHS subcommittees as directed and implement OHS system requirements to achieve a reduction in LTIFR
Responsible for working with the Occupational Health and safety team to identify opportunities for value add non work related health and well-being programs and successfully implement these programs
Requirements:
What you’ll bring to the role:
Return to Work Certification in accordance with NSW WorkCover guidelines
Proven ability to develop a return-to-work program consistent with workplace requirements & the ability to implement policy and procedures of the return -to-work program and coach managers.
Working knowledge of the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation legislation, and knowledge of Qantas Policy/Certified Agreements relevant to the workplace
Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with excellent written, verbal communication and administrative skills
Self-motivated with an ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines, with demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to handle difficult situations and resolve conflict
Intermediate skills and experience with Microsoft Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel
Practical experience in Occupational Rehabilitation and qualifications in OHS, allied health or related discipline preferred
