Description:

This position is for the B767-400/B777 Technical Services Specialist (TSS) and reports to the Manager of Wide Body Technical Services. TSS responsibilities on their assigned fleet(s) include:
Assist Maintenance Control Center (MCC) and maintenance (line and hangar) with chronic/repetitive and out of service aircraft.
Provide 24/7 access via phone/smart phone to provide technical assistance for their assigned fleet to support the operation.
Provide fleet specific assistance for outside departmental/divisional requests (i.e., Flight Operations, In-Flight, Airport Customer Service, Delta Legal, etc.).
Investigate fleet reliability, operational drivers, and individual aircraft irregularities.
Attend industry conferences for assigned fleet (on-site and teleconference).
Participate as an active member of Flight Safety "GO Team" for respective fleets(s).
Conduct daily review of critical ATA chapters, delays and cancellations, and other documents to identify any developing operational trends by fleet that may affect reliability or safety.
Provide fleet specific assistance for Quality Assurance (QA), Flight Safety and FAA/NTSB Liaison investigations.
Perform structured maintenance station visits to provide on-site training and to communicate fleet reliability drivers, troubleshooting tips, and fleet specific knowledge.
Support Operation Difficulty Index (ODI) events by initiating reports into the Reliability database and performing the initial investigation.

Requirements:

Airframe and Powerplant licenses are required.
Engineering or related aviation management degree is highly recommended.
Must have a minimum of 10 years of Line Maintenance experience, with emphasis on troubleshooting skills.
MCC experience highly desirable.
Must have completed appropriate Fleet Airframe and/or Engine Initial Training course.
Must also maintain appropriate Line Maintenance, ETOPS, and Autoland Qualifications (B767-400/B777 fleets).
OEM training is desired.
Line Maintenance background with avionics training and supervisory experience is preferred.
Candidates must possess strong technical knowledge of the aircraft/engine/auxiliary power units; have analytical skill and a thorough understanding of the aircraft manuals, Technical Operations Policies and Procedures, production process, and aircraft operations.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, work well under pressure, act in a timely manner, and handle multiple tasks with continually changing priorities, all with minimum supervision.
Familiarity with various computer software programs such as TOS, Word, Excel, DBMS, SAP, SCEPTRE, EARTH (or other types of Engineering document writing tools), and other relevant software programs is preferred.
Must be performing satisfactory in present position.
