Qantas Ground Services (QGS) is a newly created entity under Qantas Airways. It has been established to provide ground handling services and support Qantas Airport Services when required.





With the opportunity to work in an environment that fosters strong workplace relationships and inspires flexibility, your new position as Ground Crew will see you working in a fast paced team environment, actively participating in the loading and unloading of baggage and freight, providing further assistance to less mobile passengers and operating equipment to ensure on-time departure of aircraft.





You will be responsible for:
•Actively participating in all ground crew areas that directly and indirectly associated with aircraft handling to ensure an on-time departure
•Loading and unloading of passenger baggage and freight.
•Transporting baggage between aircraft and airport terminals
•Reading and interpreting hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests and baggage and cargo routing tags
•Cleaning of the aircraft
•Operating equipment safely
•Repetitively lifting items up to 32kgs
•Working outdoors in all weather conditions

Requirements:

Are you:
•Looking for a casual rotating shift position?
•A safety conscious, hardworking and reliable individual?
•Available to work a 7 day rotating shift roster covering a span of hours from 04.00am to midnight?
•Holder of a valid provisional or full state or territory Car driver’s licence?
•Physically fit and able to perform regular lifting duties of up to 32kgs;
•Able to work in extreme weather conditions and
•A team player with previous manual handling experience?
•Be flexible to work in Baggage and Cabin Cleaning

You must be available for the following if successful through the various recruitment steps:
•Attend a 3hr assessment centre.

The recruitment process will also require you to pass:
•Medical Check including health & fitness and Alcohol and Other Drugs test; and
•Security / Background Check including Federal Police Check.
