Your new role as Finance Manager Decision Support will see you as a key partner and integrator who leads and drives the development and provision of decision support services including financial performance management, commercial analysis and generation of insights and solutions for the QA Shared and Corporate portfolios.

Reporting to the Decision Support Finance Manager, and working closely with your peers to optimise CoFE (Centre of Finance Excellence) resources, you will actively manage the day-to-day demand from business units and lead and manage the development and provision of business performance reporting, analysis and forecast management for a number of business units across Qantas. The role will also manage a team of Management Accountants.

Your core responsibilities will include:
•Leading and managing the review and analysis of the actual and forecast results by Business Unit; present these results to the Head of Finance and Business Unit Leadership teams, providing insightful commentary and identifying risks and opportunities
•Leading and driving the delivery of timely, accurate and relevant financial reporting to the business and key stakeholders, providing detailed and complex analysis, insight and recommendations
•Leading an environment of continuous improvement and driving the continual review of reporting processes to sure optimal performance and service delivery
•Using in-depth knowledge of the business unit key drivers and business unit strategy to lead and manage complex analysis and interpretation of the results to develop insights relevant to the business unit financial outcomes and their decision making process
•Providing expert financial support and advice as required by Business Unit Heads of Finance in developing business cases and any ad-hoc analysis required by the business
•Undertaking complex financial modelling and robust stress testing to support business initiatives, business strategy and provide expert advice to the business
•Managing the Decision Support review of Business Unit forecast following production by the Accounting Services team and ensure it is fit for purpose, representing all aspects of the Business Unit and provide input into adjustments where required.
•Fostering a culture of continuous improvement with an objective of documenting and improving processes
•Leading the team and providing effective leadership strategies to drive engagement and ensure optimization of team outcomes

Requirements:

To be successful you will possess:
•Tertiary qualifications in accounting and / or finance
•CA / CPA qualification or equivalent
•Previous experience within a similar role in a large corporate environment
•Strong financial modelling skills with the capability to work on complex models
•Knowledge of large ERP systems, and related system controls is an advantage
•Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
•Experience in influencing stakeholders at all level of an organisation
•Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of developing successful teams
•The ability to work within time constraints and committed to meeting deadlines
