Job Purpose


As the Line Maintenance Mechanic you will be required to provide specific engineering assistance to the airlines handled by dnata, as per the Line Maintenance Handling Agreement, in order to meet various engineering requirement of the airlines.



Job Accountabilities



Provide engineering assistance overseeing Ground Equipment activities (Ground Power Unit, Air Conditioned Unit, Air Start Unit, axle jack, cherry picker, nitrogen trolley, brake cooling units efficiently and safely on a shift basis in order to meet the needs of the Emirates aircraft and other airlines operating through Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport.



Assist the Aircraft Technician/ Engineers as and when required for specific tasks (including but not limited to arrival & departure headset communication, walk around inspection, refuelling, oil replenishing) upon request from airlines to ensure timely turnaround of the aircraft.



Effectively use specialised equipment that may be required as part of checking, testing, replacement or servicing of an aircraft system or component as instructed and supervised by the aircraft engineer.



Work independently across the wide geographical spread of the airport, liaising with all necessary parties (including but not limited to the captain, airline representative, aircraft engineer) in order to ensure that all the requests of the airline are provided on time and to ensure maximum customer satisfaction / maximisation of revenue.



Strictly comply with all relevant company Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Airport Authority Standards and Regulatory requirements. Ensure the safe handling of aircraft/personnel and maintain a complete knowledge of the Airport Authority Standards and Regulations including the safe movement around the aircraft on the ramp and understanding of all signs and road markings.



Participate and promote in creating a safety culture in an effort minimize accidents and highlight deficiencies/failures that can lead to such accidents. Ensure all work locations are kept clean and excellent housekeeping conditions are maintained. This includes being aware and communicating safety shortfalls. To avoid FOD will be vigilant in ensuring work areas (including the ramp), vehicles, stands, lockers and toolboxes are all kept clean.



When required assist by undertaking any additional tasks which may be below the job holder’s current highest level of qualification to achieve the department objectives, which may include but is not limited to positioning chocks, monitoring equipment connected to the aircraft.

Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience


Education

Diploma (3 years) or Degree (4 years) in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or Airframe & Power Plant (A&P), or Avionics Engineering, or Aeronautical Engineering.



Experience

1 year including Internship or apprenticeship.
