Salary: up to £27,000 (dependent on experience)


The Role:

Working closely with the Stores Manager the Import/Export Coordinator will have full responsibility for the flow of all import and export documentation to and from the notifying/shipping agency in line with the supply of parts and tooling to part 145 organisation and the associated engineering team.

Using a professional approach, the Import/Export Coordinator will have the ability to respond to the business requirements in an efficient method. In addition, by being hands-on and down to earth, you will be able to undertake general stores work and purchasing, to assist with any peaks in the workload. You will be proactive in general storage accountability and shipping process and be flexible in your work approach. The key responsibilities are as follows:

Responsible for managing and overseeing all Aviation imported goods into the UK and arranging the flow of Customs Declarations to ensure Customs clearances are obtained quickly and deliveries are made in good time to support all 145 engineering processes.
Responsible for arranging and completing all associated paperwork and declarations to aid all imports and exports in accordance HMRC, Aviation Tariffs and commodity codes, to ensure that all goods being imported from abroad are imported legally and legitimately.
Ensuring Imports & Exports are completed efficiently and against the most cost effective import quota, tariffs, trade agreements and HM Revenue and Customs regulations.
Establishing contacts and relationships with HM Customs and freight forwarders to ensure efficient transfer of goods through the legal process ensuring any lliaison / correspondence with freight forwarders and HMRC as required to ensure swift clearance of all inbound parts.
Completion of the receipts / goods in process in accordance aircraft regulations in a timely manner and ensuring the storage and distribution of all parts meet the expectations of the 145 establishment, quality and the needs of the engineering work force.
Procurement of Aircraft Spares to meet the needs of the customer
Chasing of core returns from the maintenance hangar and processing them back to the appropriate vendors and the subsequent completion of any export / dispatch details as required.
Conducting Daily, Weekly and Monthly checks as requested / required.
Aiding the Supply Chain department where it is most needed and any other duties as required by the Stores Manager.
Take part in the on-call AOG to meet the needs of the customer out of hours.

Requirements:

The Person:

Aviation Stores experience is preferable
Knowledgeable in HMRC Customs Procedures, Import Regimes and the UK Tariff
Familiarity of Aviation Import processing and there uses i.e. OPR, IPR, End Use
An understanding of good warehousing practice as well as experience
Computer literate and have the ability to grasp new process and procedures
Ability to follow instructions efficiently and accurately
Willingness to complete or already have an in date Dangerous Goods qualification
Driving licence a necessity and a willingness to use or already have forklift licence
Passport and willingness to hand carry parts if required
Ability to use excel in a basic way, entering information and sending out information
Flexibility in supporting the business

Hours are 8.00am – 5.00pm. On-call pattern is 1 week in 5, including weekends (with days off in lieu)
