Thank you for inquiring about the opportunity to become a Lead Ground Maintenance Technician with Delta Air Lines, in Dept. 587.

Job Summary: The Lead Ground Maintenance Technician (LDGMT) acts as the working leader of a group of Ground Maintenance Technicians. The Lead GMT's responsibilities include planning and layout work, instructing, and supervising the work of the GMT group. This position requires a working knowledge of ground support equipment assigned to the station as well as jet-ways, baggage conveyor systems, and hanger facilities. Must be physically able to perform all the necessary duties of the job. Must practice safety and environmental conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. Must be able to adjust work hours to accommodate operational needs when requested.

Requirements:

Job Qualifications: The Lead Ground Maintenance Technician position requires current or former GMT classification or higher. This position also requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidate must be able to read write English. Candidate must also be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Must be physically able to perform all the necessary duties of the job. Candidate must be able to adjust work hours to accommodate operational needs when requested. Must have a basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC and pneumatic disciplines.

NOTE: When evaluating applicants who meet the minimum qualifications, consideration will be given to, among other things, quality, quantity, recency and verifiability of training and experience.

To qualify for this position, candidate must also:

- Have a valid driver's license
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass an extensive background check and drug screen
- Be authorized to work in the US
