The Lead - Tool Room is responsible for maintaining the equipment and tooling located in Central Tooling and in the Tool Rooms. This responsibility include but is not limited to the disassembly, cleaning, repair, assembly, inspection, calibration and testing of aircraft tooling to help assure safe, on-time departures of Delta's aircraft. Additional tasks involve tool servicing, cutting and repairs, shipping tools, periodically checking, replacing or repairing various items, and tool inventory management. Must be able to interact with AMTs to assist in tooling needs and have the knowledge to match tooling requirements with maintenance being performed on the aircraft. This position is also responsible for the movement and support of tooling to support both the Delta operation and our MRO operation. The Lead is responsible for a clean, organized, and safe work environment. This position requires the Lead to be thorough in their work and to provide the highest level of quality. This position also requires outside work.
Requirements:
Job Qualifications: Must be able to read and write English and be able to comprehend and apply information contained in technical manuals. Must have a minimum of four to five years in a Delta Tech Ops environment. Prefer to have at least six months of mechanical experience or technical training/schooling. Preferred areas of study may include but are not limited to: automotive, sheet metal and electrical/electronics. Must possess basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems. Prefer experience in reading and interpreting technical documents such as AAs, SBs, AMMs, CMs, EMs and wiring diagrams. Must be willing to work rotating or fixed shifts. Must achieve a satisfactory score on the mechanical aptitude test which is structured to determine the ability to perform essential job functions. Must meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions including the ability to lift at least 70 pounds. Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
