Reporting to a Program Manager your role will be directly responsible for managing a number of business related programs of Technology, Change and IT Project initiatives simultaneously through the entire project lifecycle, from concept design through to implementation and handover to the relevant parts of the business. You will liaise with multiple key internal stakeholders across the Qantas Group as well as external partners to ensure successful delivery on time and to budget in ensuring customer objectives are met.
You will be a self-starter, collaborative team player who is motivated and is an engaging influential communicator. You will enjoy building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders whilst actively contributing to achieving the best possible outcome for both the customers and the team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Develop project management procedures thereby ensuring accountability, knowledge transfer and repeatability in future projects
Experience in blending traditional project management principles and practices within an Agile environment
Act as a Business Agile champion and contribute to expanding the understanding and practice of Agile principles and values throughout the entire organisation
Develop a culture within the project teams and working groups that engenders pride in meeting target dates whilst actively engaging colleagues to make joint decisions
Manage project team and participate in Agile ceremonies as required
Develop, manage and implement initiatives within areas of responsibility including the active support in the analysis, development, review and implementation of strategic and tactical initiatives
Proven experience managing small to medium projects within a multi-vendor environment
Monitor and report effectiveness of change management initiatives
Report on progress to senior stakeholders, whilst managing the budget and forecast to within a 10% accuracy KPI
Requirements:
To be successful you will possess:
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience with significant time spent in a Project Management role with a ‘‘hands on’’ approach to all aspects of the project from start to finish
Proven experience using SCRUIM/Agile methodologies with enterprise level application development projects
Contemporary project management and process skills aligned to those applied by the Program/Project/PMO Manager to deliver Technology
Proven track record of successful implemented projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
Experience participating in Agile ceremonies - Strong focus on structure, process and methods
Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager managing large complex projects
Previous experience helping organisations transition to Agile practices and values will be highly regarded
High level of energy, enthusiasm and commitment to deliver
Previous experience with Clarity PPM would be highly desirable
Experience in managing IT based projects end to end
A track record of delivering results in dynamic and changing business environments
Experience developing others and leading teams
Attitude and drive to ‘make things happen’
Proven ability in translating strategies into detailed plans / business cases
Proven relationship management, negotiation & influencing skills with the ability to effectively communicate with staff and management at all levels
