The Qantas Centre of Finance Excellence (CoFE), is responsible for providing financial services and analytical support across the Qantas Group. We have a newly created vacancy for a Manager, Finance Change Programs to drive the delivery of the change program within the Qantas Finance Function. The key objective of this role is to move the Finance Operating Model to the next stage through embedding continuous improvement and a culture of best practice into the functions throughout the Finance Community.

Reporting to the Head of CoFE this role works closely with the CFOs, Heads of Finance and Senior Finance Managers to identify, evaluate and articulate strategic objectives and opportunities. This role will see you responsible for the set-up of a framework to effectively prioritise, resource, track and implement finance projects in line with strategic objectives agreed.

This involves leading a small team as well as forming, organising and leading virtual teams across the finance community. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance project change management and transformation including having initiated and led a program of change. In addition, this role requires superior leadership and influencing skills.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Establish & deliver an initial change program to move the Finance Target Operating Model to the next stage
Develop & implements a framework to support continuous improvement plans in line with strategic objectives for the Qantas finance functions across the Group
Deliver presentations to senior executive management on the strategic direction and the projects to meet the continuous improvement strategy
Produce clear, considered and insightful analytical reports for the CFOs/ EMs of Finance and senior finance management.
Establish an effective Program Management Office which owns and defines project work streams across multiple business units to effectively manage finance projects
Implement and track benefits of the Change Program and Continuous Improvement projects
Embed a Continuous Improvement culture into the Finance Community through developing a vision and overcoming barriers to change

Requirements:

Your main responsibilities will include:

What you’ll bring to the role:

More than 10 years’ experience working in complex organisation within a finance related function or projects based role
Experience in managing complex projects – any formal project management training would be advantageous
Experienced in using Lean or similar methodologies with demonstrated ability via articulating a project that you have lead using this methodology
Extensive knowledge/understanding of project delivery life-cycles
Extensive experience in change management and/or financial experience
Excellent business Stakeholder management and ability to manage and influence diverse groups to a common outcome
Strong customer service focus with effective relationship-building skills
Ability to appropriately influence individuals and groups to achieve results
Superior time management and organisational skills with the ability to work on and manage multiple complex issues/work priorities concurrently and independently
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and presentation skills
Advanced interpersonal, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
Proactive, self-motivated and results-orientated with lots of initiative
