This is an outstanding opportunity to join the Qantas Group procurement team. Qantas spends over $11b per annum with about 15,000 suppliers, making it one of the most unique and challenging procurement environments in Australia. We have multiple direct and indirect categories under management, providing career options to get involved in all facets of the aviation business, from aircraft to airports, as well as obtaining excellent transferable experience in general industrial goods and services procurement.

Your new position as Category Analyst will see you working closely with the Group procurement team, stakeholders and suppliers to help deliver various procurement strategies across the business, which have a direct correlation to the Qantas Transformation Program.

Your main responsibilities include:

Gathering and analysing supplier data for various categories of expenditure
Converting spend data into meaningful information by applying various analytical tools and techniques
Conducting market analysis, supplier benchmarking & researching supplier financial data
Assist with the development of Category Management strategies, procurement strategies and actively work with the team and stakeholders to identify business opportunities
Assist with the development and negotiation of airline contracts and tracking contract related costs
Help improve the operational efficiency of the procurement practices and processes
Assist in delivering Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) objectives and monitoring supplier KPI's
Manage the reporting of benefits achieved from sourcing projects
Assist with the establishment of contracts in the Qantas ERP system
Driving continuous improvement though analysis of information and implement "best practice" initiatives

Requirements:

A passion for working with suppliers and stakeholders to deliver value to the business;
Tertiary qualifications in a business related field
Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office
Strong analytical, reporting, business writing and problem solving skills
Ability to turn data into insight
Embrace change and enjoy doing something different everyday
Proactive and well organised
Good communicator and have excellent influencing skills
